Meet Dr. Brian Emrich

I am passionate about our conservative approach to orthodontics and strongly believe that orthodontics is not something to “sell.” Rather, we provide education about treatment options and let patients decide what is best for their situation. Often, less treatment can be the best treatment. This no-pressure approach comes from our understanding that everyone comes from different backgrounds and circumstances, and deserves to have a treatment plan that works best for them — not us.

Orthodontics is definitely a team effort, and I have one of the best teams in the area. They are friendly, caring, and dedicated to making everyone feel comfortable in our office. They love working with patients and getting to know them! We all take the time to get to know our patients and their family: treating everyone as an individual and spending as much time with them as they need to feel comfortable and have all their questions answered. When you come to our office, we treat you like family.

I feel very fortunate to be able to live and work in my community. People trust us to improve their smiles or overall dental health, and with this comes lots of responsibility. I take great pride in making sure our patients leave our office feeling better about themselves and their overall orthodontic experience. Improving people’s lives through their smiles is very rewarding.

Education and Continuing Education

I was born and raised right here in Livermore. After graduating from Granada High School in 1984, I attended Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo and received my Bachelor of Science in Finance. Then I earned both my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. In 1997, I returned to my hometown and started my private practice in orthodontics.

From the beginning of my career, I have understood the importance of keeping up on the latest advances in the profession, and ultimately providing my patients with the very latest technology and methods to give them the best possible orthodontic care. I regularly attend orthodontic and Invisalign® meetings and conventions, as well as a local orthodontic study group.

Outside the Office

I am very lucky to have been married to a wonderful woman for more than 30 years, Julia, and we have two amazing boys: Scott (Granada '13) and Kyle (Granada '16.)   We love calling Livermore our home.  Both our boys went on to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo so we now have an entire family of Cal Poly Alum!

When I have free time, I love to travel, spend time with family and friends, play golf, and support my Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders. I also enjoy supporting numerous local organizations, schools, and youth sports within my community.
